Before introducing you to SSDs, we want you to understand the disadvantages of HDD and the benefits of SSD. It’s good to know the relevant info about the product and the reason for buying, before investing in it!

Hard Drive Disks are good for Storing Data but if you are into multitasking activities then a laptop with HDD is not a good choice. Why HDD is not good comparing to SSD? Well, the reason is its machinery.

    HDD Image (Internal Structure)
    HDD Image (Internal Structure)

Hard Drive Disk is combined machinery that consists of different components. Have a look at the above image, for proper understanding. HDD machinery includes platters, spindle, R/W head, Actuator Arm, Actuator Axis, Actuator.

More functional components lead to high power consumption. Also, when it comes to accessing files, the HDD has huge latency periods. Things can become worse when it comes to random data read/write. This is the reason why your laptop/desktop takes a long time to boot up. If the files required to run a program or the entire OS are not available for the processor and RAM, you will see performance lags for sure.

Some of the other disadvantages of HDD are stated below:

    1. Bad Booting Speed: You might be annoyed with your HP Pavilion 15 laptop, due to its low booting speed (A couple of minutes for booting and System refresh) The actual culprit is HDD, not your Laptop.
    1. System Lag: Using your HP Pavilion 15 laptop, you might have gone through a system lag scenario. It’s difficult to perform multitasking with a laptop that includes HDD. The reason is the Hard Drive Disk Machinery. Sometimes, your laptop Might get Stuck for several minutes.
    1. Low Read/Write Speed: The R/W speed of the HDD is very slow, R/W head component takes time to read and write data from the rotating platters.
    1. System Crash (Losing Valuable Data): Losing Valuable Data is one of the most annoying situations. In case, if you’re laptop turns off due to a lack of battery or unfortunately, you mislead to turn off the system, will lead you to lose the stored data.

Again, the reason is the old machinery of HDD. The Hard Disk Drive’s platters keep on rotating to read the data, a sudden stop might corrupt the stored files.

Moreover, you will find some annoying noise operating your HP Pavilion Laptop. The noise is of HDD rotating platters. Previously, it was difficult to get an SSD due to the higher price but now you can avail the Solid-State Drive at an affordable price.

    NVMe SSD
    SATA 2.5″ SSD

Let’s discuss the answer to the stated question “Why” Firstly, have a look at the above-shown images of the Laptop SSD. Solid-State Drives do not include any moving parts like Hard drive Disks. It includes Flash Controllers and NAND flash memory chips.

SSDs are Lighter in Weight, Faster in Performance. Check out the Benefits that you can experience, once you upgrade your HP Pavilion 15 Laptop with SSD.

    1. Fast System Boot-up: You can experience quick system boot-up, once you upgrade the HP Pavilion 15 laptop with SSD. No more waiting for boot-up. The reason Flash Controllers and NAND flash memory chips.
    1. Enjoy Multitasking without System Lag: Solid-State Drives allows users to enjoy multitasking without System Lag. You can enjoy PC and Online Games without any hassle.
    1. Low battery power consumption: As discussed earlier SSDs do not include moving parts like HDDs. Hence, it consumes very low power which leads to an increase in Laptop Battery durability.
    1. Get Rid of the problem of “Losing Data”: Even if, your Laptop turns off without proper shutdown the stored data is safe with SSD. It does not include platters like HDD, no more losing data even if the system crashes.
    1. 10x Read/Write Speed: Solid-State Drives includes Flash Controllers and NAND flash memory chips which lets the System with effective R/W speed. Upgrading your Laptop with SSD will let you import/export data 10x times comparing to Old HDD.
    1. Silent Mode Operational: You can enjoy operating the HP Pavilion 15 without platters noise, once you upgrade it with a reliable SSD. “Work in Peace”

Moreover, the life expectancy of Solid-State Drives is 5x compared to Hard Drive Disks. The reason is Flash Controllers and NAND flash memory chips.

    Hi
I have an HP Pavilion 15-AU018ca that currently has a 2tb Crucial MX500 SSD.
I’d like to upgrade it to the Crucial 4tb SSD.
Hp says it won’t work. Then again when I asked about upgrading some parts they said it wasn’t possible.
How would I know for sure my notebook will or will not support the 4tb SSD?
    Thanks
