ORICO UFSD-C Flash Drive Review: A Stylish yet Sturdy Flash Drive!

I recently got an ORICO UFS Flash Drive for review. The product model is ORICO-UFSD-C. The drive is pretty good-looking and has a solid build. This drive is using the USB 3.2 Gen 1 transfer protocol. So, the maximum achievable speed is 5 Gbps. However, this drive promises to offer 411 MB/s read and 353 MB/s write speed.

In my testing, I found it offering near about this range. This drive supports all the popular operating systems i.e. Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iPadOS. The transfer protocol is USB3.2 GEN1 5Gbps.

The build quality is great and the drive is made up of Aluminum mixed with rubber elements. It comes with a Type-C connector. However, you can use a USB connector to use it with older systems. But, the good thing is that you can use it with your smartphones as well.

We will be reviewing this drive properly in this article and see how well it can perform under different circumstances.

I have tested and am currently using this drive on my Intel systems. The CPU is an Intel i5 12600K with 16 GB DDR5 RAM. The primary drive is Silicon Power UD90 Gen 4 NVME SSD.

These tests are performed using ATTO Disk Benchmarking software. I have used 128KB I/O size for this test. The graphs are plotted using different Queue Depths to help you understand the performance variations.

Below is the screenshot of this drive tested on Blackmagic Disk Speed Test software. The stress size is 4GB in this test.

I am pretty impressed with the design and build quality. Heat management is really good and you can’t feel any heat even when the drive is working on very huge files. The speed promised by the brand is pretty high but I wasn’t able to reach that speed. It could happen because of your system specification. But, still, the read/write performance is really impressive. If we talk about the random read/write speed, it is more than enough than what you get with any Gen 3.1 and Gen 3.2 flash drives.

The top storage variant is 512GB. This variant is great for content creators in my opinion. However, I got the 128GB variant.

So, I can definitely recommend it to any user for any kind of usage.
